Frank Awards 2013: Best Cinematical Moment

Today we only have one category, before going the last two: best direction and best movie. Brace yourselves.

Best Cinematical Moment:

The winner last year of the best scene was the “Monsieur Merde” segment in the french movie ‘Holy Motors’ (2012), a breathtaking segment, and maybe the most significant and memorable of the whole film.

This year I’ve expanded this category to make some space to 10 scenes from movies of 2013, so I should be able to tell you what these scenes are, or you could watch them below. If there’s no availability for them, I’m sorry. So, the nominated scenes are:

· “Bathroom Brawl” in ‘The World’s End’

· “Delayed Fuse” in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’

· “Dragon” in ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’

· “Eating the Cabbage” in ‘Jiao you’

· “The End of the World/Safe Haven” in ‘V/H/S/2’

· “The Revenge” in ‘The Dirties’

· “Searching for the Money” in ‘Computer Chess’

· “Surrogate” in ‘Her’

· “Train Fight” in “Yi dai zong shi”

· “Whipping the Master” in “12 Years a Slave”

And the winning scene is:

Safe Haven was the best part of ‘V/H/S/2’ and in my opinion it might be the best film of the year altogether, so that’s the main reason as to why I think that is the best scene of the film, if you can’t choose the entire short film, it might just be the segment that starts after the horn of the end of the world. A must see for sure.

Tomorrow: Best Director
